Scripture Saturday (Romans 5:1-11)

I recently started posting straight Scripture every Saturday. My goal is that on this “day off” we can meditate on God’s Word together, and listen to “spiritual songs” that will drive us to both draw near to the Lord and to obey His Word. I hope it’s a blessing and encouragement to your Saturdays!

love your blog! :)
Thanks Joanna!
Thanks for the Scripture and the Song. I truly worshipped this morning as I read the verses in Romans 5 and listened to Majesty. Every time I read Romans 5:8 I remember an 84-year old man from Penal, Trinidad, named Oenid. A tear rolled out of his right eye as I read Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Without much thought, I instinctively caught the tear with my right index finger about 3 inches below his eye on his right cheek. I said, “I read somewhere that tears are the flood gate to the soul. God is speaking to your soul today, Oenid. Do you realize that?” Then, several tears began to roll down his face. Within minutes this Hindu man prayed and asked Jesus Christ to save his soul by coming into his life as Savior and Lord. His 20-year old grandson was with me to visit his grandfather. You should have seen his face. Two weeks later, Oenid’s soul flew away from this earth to his heavenly home. I look forward to seeing him again someday.
God help me to finish well by sharing the gospel more faithfully here in the USA.
